Description

The aim of this event is to provide a working introduction to the research funding opportunity and information services available to academic and research staff and to the electronic submission systems for European and Research Council UK research grant applications.

There are 3 sessions during the afternoon and you will need to book a ticket for each session you want to attend.

Funding opportunity and information services:

12:00 - 12:45 Introduction to Research Professional and UKRO

These services enable individuals to obtain regular personalised funding bulletins as well as to conduct specific searches for recent and current funding activity in particular areas of interest.

This interactive session will include an overview of the funding service(s) that the University subscribes to, worked examples of conducting both broad and targeted searches and the opportunity for participants to set up their own personal profile for email alerts.

Electronic grant application systems:

12: 45 – 13:05 Making an EU application – the European Participant Portal

13:10 – 14:00 Making an application to RCUK – the Joint Electronic Submission System (JeS)

These interactive sessions will familiarise participants with key research grant electronic submission systems, explain the processes for submitting applications and outline the main structures of EU and RCUK applications.
